In one of the most dramatic finishes in recent memory, Birendra Shrestha of Thimi has been crowned champion of Nepal's 27th National Pigeon Flying Tournament 2083. Entering the Super Six in 6th place, Shrestha produced the performance of the tournament when it mattered most — led by his Chini Male flying an extraordinary 09:52 — to overturn the standings and claim the title with a Super Six total of 30:49, the highest final round performance of any competitor.
The group stage of Nepal's 27th National Pigeon Flying Tournament 2083 has concluded after six rounds of competition spanning the Kathmandu Valley and beyond. After weeks of flying, the field of 68 participants has been narrowed to its finest — but not without drama, weather disruptions, and some remarkable storylines emerging from the data.
In Nepal, most pigeon fanciers rely on agro-vet guidance and experienced loft practices rather than strict veterinary protocols. The following are commonly followed field practices, used for preventive or mild infection management.
⚠️ Note: These are general fancier practices, not fixed veterinary prescriptions. Always adjust based on product label or veterinary advice.
